Who Did You Say Was Extreme Again?

Check out this great video put out by the NRSC (via the National Review blog Campaign Spot)!

The movie trailer style was humorous. But unfortunately, the video underscores that it's difficult to call either side extreme if you just go by the polls. (40% is still a big number.) Apparently a majority of Americans are in favor of government control and public handouts, else President Obama would not have been elected even based on his open campaign promises.

Thanks for commenting, Andrew.

I think the point of the video was to show how ridiculous it is for the Democrats and the media to claim that Republican opposition to Obama & Pelosi's agenda is "extreme" when in fact this Republican opposition has the widespread support of the American people. To call Obama's opposition extreme is to tacitly call the American people extreme. I think, in this sense, the video achieved its objective.

You are certainly right that there are still an alarming number of people that approve of Obama's job performance and support much of his agenda. His job approval rating should be 15%, not 43%. However, I think many people who voted for Obama in 2008 did not realize he was going to take the country so far to the left. He claimed to be a centrist, and many Americans who weren't paying very close attention got snookered into believing his claims. Maybe Obama's disastrous presidency has managed to open some people's eyes to the destructiveness of left-wing ideas...let's hope so.
