Are We On the Path to Permanent European-Style Socialism?
Mark Steyn answers a resounding "Yes" to that question in a chilling article about the likely consequences to our system of government if ObamaCare passes. If the Democrats succeed in ramming this health care bill through, they have won a huge and probably permanent victory for their big government ideology, regardless of the outcome of the 2010 elections. The upcoming House vote on ObamaCare is one of the most important votes in our lifetime. Please call your congressman and register your strong opposition to this government takeover of 1/6 of our economy!

I agree with Mark Steyn. This bill is not primarily about health care; it is about expanding the government and making the citizens more dependent on government services. If this passes and the Republicans win landslide victories in 2010, I seriously doubt that the Republicans will have the resolve to get rid of this "reform".
The sky is falling! More Republican propangda. America will never be a socialist country. It has been one year of the Obama administration and my personal liberties have not been taken away mentioned numerous times in this blog. And if I am not mistaken, America is a mixture of capitalism (private sector) and socialism (Medicare, social security) compared to other countries that have only adopted one ideal such as communism and socialism which has not worked out too well for them.
