We also found out this past week that Obama denied a request by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to meet with him, apparently claiming his schedule was too busy. Yet, on the very day in question, Obama managed to find time in his schedule to appear on the David Letterman Show! At least we know what his priorities are.
Charles Krauthammer has an outstanding column on NRO called "The Abandonment." I highly recommend it. Krauthammer explains clearly and concisely how Obama's policy on Iran is utterly incoherent and is a miserable failure. He also shows how this policy constitutes not just a danger to our own country's national security but a complete abandonment of our closest ally in the region, Israel.
Obama's weakness toward Iran and indifference toward Israel are two more reasons why he must not be re-elected.

Israel, Disarmed
Another must-read article by Charles Krauthammer. Krauthammer compellingly demonstrates that the international community's ultimate goal is to deprive Israel of any ability to defend itself, and the U.S., led by Obama, is assisting in that goal. Make no mistake about it, Israel's very existence is threatened. And if our government has anything to do with it, the end will come sooner rather than later.

Once Again, Israel Stands Alone
Coming out of Memorial Day weekend, the big international news is Israel's raid on a group of pro-Palestinian ships sailing to the Gaza Strip to provide "humanitarian" aid. As usual, the international community, including the U.N., rushed to denounce Israel's "war crimes." Mona Charen has an excellent article in National Review debunking anti-Israel myths regarding this incident. It is clear to me this entire incident was a setup by pro-Palestinian activists to further isolate Israel.
In my opinion, nothing short of a full-throated defense of Israel is acceptable from our government. And of course, Obama has done nothing of the kind. At least the U.S. did force the U.N. Security Council to water down their condemnation of the incident to avoid singling out Israel for blame. I suppose, given this administration's anti-Israel and anti-democratic foreign policy, this is the best we could hope for, and I do give Obama a little credit for it. But with Muslim nations putting pressure on the U.S. to further condemn the attacks and with the U.N. stepping up its calls for ending the blockade of the Gaza Strip, this issue is not going away. Will our government side with Israel, one of our most loyal allies for decades, or will we yield to international pressure and side with Israel's anti-democratic, anti-semitic enemies at the U.N.? Seeing Red
This article from Fox News made me see red.
This is a new low for the American presidency. Our idiotic president invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for a meeting. When Netanyahu refused to let Obama tell him how to run his country and did not agree to stop building settlements in his own capital of Jerusalem, Obama WALKED OUT on Netanyahu in the middle of the meeting to have dinner in private. He said Netanyahu could stay in the White House and let him know "if there is anything new."
What kind of way is this to treat a supposed friend and ally? Netanyahu is snuck in the back door of the White House, with no photographers permitted, and is left hanging when the U.S. president walks out of the meeting. As one Israeli newspaper put it, the Israeli prime minister received "the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea." This is a public humiliation of the only democracy in the Middle East and our only reliable ally on the War on Terror in that region of the world. Israel exists in an increasingly anti-semitic world and is surrounded by enemies whose stated goal is to wipe her out of existence. One of those enemies, Iran, is developing nuclear weapons. Europe despises Israel. We are their only real ally in the world. And now our president, who can't even bring himself to use tough rhetoric (much less tough action) against terrorist-sponsoring, election-rigging, dissident-murdering Iran, goes ballistic against Israel over a lousy building development.
This behavior is worse than just childish and petty (although it certainly is that). This tells me where Obama's real sympathies lie. And they are not with our country's democratic values. How many times does Obama have to suck up to anti-American dictatorships and terrorist-sympathizing Muslim states while publicly snubbing democratic allies before we realize that he doesn't share our country's values? He bends over backwards to accommodate our enemies but gives the back of the hand to our friends. Hugo Chavez is Obama's amigo but Netanyahu can't even get the normal respect given to any overseas visitor, much less a friend's welcome? Iran and North Korea and Russia get whatever concessions they want out of Obama. He agitated to get the socialist president of Honduras reinstated (he was deposed for openly violating the country's constitution). At the same time, in one year in office he has succeeded in angering England, France, Germany, Japan, and most of Eastern Europe. He has filled his Justice Department with attorneys who have spent their lives defending and apologizing for terrorists. And it shouldn't come as a surprise to any of us, because this guy sat under the preaching of "Reverend" Jeremiah Wright for 20 years. You know, the preacher who said "God damn America" and said that our country deserved 9/11 and that our government deliberately injected inner-city blacks with the AIDS virus. Obama counted terrorists like Bill Ayers among his friends and associates in Chicago. And now we're surprised because his foreign policy is anti-American and he is destroying decades-old alliances and friendships? His entire view of the world is upside down and backwards because his mind has been poisoned his whole life by anti-American friends and mentors.
Every time I hear about Obama's latest outrage, I keep thinking that it can't get worse. And then it does.

Obama vs. Israel
Check out this great article from Commentary Magazine on the current diplomatic crisis between the U.S. and Israel. Obama's behavior toward Israel has been completely irresponsible. His administration has used harsher language toward Israel, a close democratic ally in the War on Terror, than it has used against Iran, a sworn enemy of the U.S. and supporter of terrorism around the world. I have noticed this pattern before in Obama's foreign policy. He snubs our friends like England and France, while attempting to appease our enemies like Iran and North Korea. His international policies have put his weakness, pettiness, ignorance, and moral confusion on display for all the world to see. It is embarrassing -- and dangerous -- for our country.
